Which of these two Dutch players will qualify for the World Matchplay Darts quarter-finals. Gian van Veen looks to cause another upset as he takes on 16th seed Danny Noppert. Here's our match prediction.
The first player to win 11 legs will progress into the next round. Their quarter-final opponent will be either ninth seed James Wade or unseeded Wessels Nijman.
Van Veen shocked the Blackpool Winter Gardens when beating world number one and defending champion Luke Humphries in round one. That was the first match the 23-year-old had ever won in this tournament.
Earlier this year, he got to the last eight of the UK Open. Sunday's win was the second time he's beaten Humphries this year and he also holds a win over world champion Luke Littler in 2025.
Danny Noppert did beat him 6-1 two months ago and he's six places ahead of van Veen in the PDC Order of Merit. Round one saw him defeat Cameron Menzies for the loss of just two legs but with a lower average than van Veen.
The 34-year-old made it to the last four of this tournament in 2022. He also made it to the semi-finals in this year's World Masters so this could be a close match.

Gian van Veen was in great form on Sunday when defeating top seeded Luke Humphries 10-8 with a 98.45 average. He's had big wins already this year and will have had a couple of days to get over beating the defending champion.
