Germany have made an excellent start to EuroVolley 2026, coming back to beat Türkiye 3-1, defeating Latvia 3-0 and surviving a huge test to edge hosts Romania 3-0 on Saturday.
The Germans were forced to dig deep against Romania, who levelled proceedings after going 2-0 down in the match. Erik Rohrs was the top performer for Germany with 22 attacking points and one ace.

Meanwhile, Switzerland’s return to the European Championship after over five decades has been disappointing, as they have suffered three defeats in a row coming into this match.
They lost 3-0 to France and Türkiye either side of a 3-1 defeat to Romania. Julian Weisigk was their leading scorer in the last match with 15 points, while Lars Migge finished on 11 points.
Switzerland have lost four of their last five matches in all competitions and have not beaten Germany in a competitive matchup.
