Genoa and Atalanta face off on Saturday in the penultimate round of the Serie A 2024/25 campaign with very little on offer for the sides. This match between the 13th-placed Grifone and the third-placed La Dea at Stadio Luigi Ferraris comes with our prediction of an away win.

With 40 points, Genoa are already guaranteed to finish at least 13th but no higher than 11th. Atalanta’s 71 points guarantee them a third-placed finish and a spot in next season’s Champions League.

Genoa held Napoli to a 2-2 away draw last weekend to halt a three-match losing streak. They are also winless in five matches in Serie A (D2, L3), failing to score in three of those.

Two of those defeats have come at this venue, but Genoa had a run of five wins and a draw prior to these defeats. Atalanta will look to continue Genoa’s losing streak and post a season double, having won the reverse fixture 5-1 in October.

The visitors won 2-1 at home against Roma, making it a fourth win in their last five league fixtures. La Dea are certainly ending the season positively, although they are guaranteed to finish third.

Atalanta won’t mind being on the road, as they have the best away record in this league campaign, winning 12 of 18 trips.
