Benfica have had an explosive start to the season and will be looking to secure a place in the UEFA Champions League playoffs when they travel to Denmark to face Midtjylland for their return leg clash of the third qualifying round. Hosts Midtjylland go into this game winless in their last two matches and with just one outright victory in their last five games. The biggest positive they take to this game is their scoring form, having netted in each of their last five matches. Midtjylland have however conceded three or more goals in three of their last five matches, and this includes a 4-1 defeat away to Benfica. Four of their last five matches have produced over 2.5 goals while Midtjylland have no clean sheet in the five games. They are coming from a 3-3 draw with Lyngby in the last game, a result they won’t be very pleased with, having led 3-0 after 32 minutes in the match.

Benfica’s last five matches have all produced over 2.5 goals. Each of their last six matches have been at home and it will be interesting to see how they fare away from home. They have four straight away wins though, and all these have produced clean sheets. With their experience, the Portuguese giants will be hoping to go past this hurdle.
