Emma Raducanu, the top seed, has reached the Transylvanian Open final and will battle third seed Sorana Cirstea for the title. This is their second career meeting and the first as a championship match. Read on for our prediction of the match.

Raducanu defeated Cirstea in their only other encounter. Though this wasn’t on a hard court and was five years ago, the Brit will be confident of doubling her advantage.

Raducanu is contesting only her second final on the tour. The 2021 US Open champion has been in excellent form this week and has lost just one set in four outings.

Now up to 25th in the live ranking, Raducanu defeated Oleksandr Oliynykova in the semi-finals.

Cirstea has been spectacular on home soil and now contests her eighth tour final. A three-time tour champion, Cirstea was victorious the last time she contested a tour final.

This was last season in Cleveland. The 35-year-old, who is in her first indoor final, hasn’t lost a set in her run to the championship match. Among those to have fallen to the Romanian was defending champion Anastasia Potapova.

Cirstea hardly broke a sweat in the semi-finals as she relinquished just three games to the qualifier Daria Snigur. She has now won nine of 11 matches and had a third-round exit in Brisbane as her top result before this week.
