Oleksandar Oliynykova is having an exciting tournament at Cluj-Napoca and will face top seed Emma Raducanu in the semis. This will be their second career meeting and the first at tour level. Below is our prediction of the match.

Raducanu will progress to only her second career final on the tour if she continues with her strong showing this week. The Briton shocked the world when she won the 2021 US Open title as a qualifier.

It was her maiden triumph on the tour, and she hasn’t contested another final since.

Raducanu, who is yet to drop a set this week, defeated the qualifier Maja Chwalinska in the quarter-finals. She won the first set in a bagel, the second time this week that she had done that.

Reaching the last four has moved Raducanu up to 27th in the live ranking.

Oliynykova is having a career-defining run here. The Ukrainian had never competed in the main draw of a tour event before this season. Now, she is just two wins away from being recognized as a tour champion.

Oliynykova has won three matches this week with only one set dropped. After battling from a losing position in the first round against Mayar Sherif, Oliynykova has gone from strength to strength.

She defeated eighth seed Anna Bondar in the second round and then fourth seed Wang Xinyu in the quarters. The 25-year-old’s performance this week has catapulted her 20 places in the live ranking to a career-high 71st.
