League Two Doncaster Rovers will be out to cause an FA Cup shock on Monday evening. Rovers are home to Premier League Crystal Palace in the fourth round of the FA Cup. Can the Eagles avoid an upset? Read our match prediction.

The home side are second in League Two and are attempting to reach the fifth round for the first time since 2019. The last round saw them win away at Championship side Hull City but they need to bounce back from a midweek 5-2 loss away to Chesterfield.

Crystal Palace reached the FA Cup final in 2016 and were semi-finalists six years later. The past two seasons have seen them lose in the third round. They will see this match away to Doncaster as a good opportunity to make it into the last 16. As you'll read in this preview, the Eagles (who are 12th in the Premier League) are in good form at present. Can they reach the fifth round?

Doncaster - Crystal Palace: Form Analysis

Doncaster Rovers haven't made it this far in the FA Cup since 2021. This is their first home game of this season after three away draws. Round one saw them win 1-0 at League Two Barrow.

It was a tough game for them in round two. They had to come from behind in their second round tie. Rovers were 1-0 down at non-league Kettering Town (the highest scorers in FA Cup history) but won in extra time.

The third round saw them again in a marathon game as they beat Championship side Hull City on penalties after a 1-1 away draw.  MIdweek saw them lose 5-2 away to Chesterfield and that ended a run of five games without defeat.

Palace are out to beat Doncaster again.

Palace reached round four with a 1-0 win over Stockport County. These two sides met in the FA Cup six years ago and Palace won at Doncaster 2-0. Palace have only lost one of their last eight matches. That was a home loss to Brentford but last weekend saw them win 2-0 at Manchester United. That was their third successive away win and they haven't conceded a goal in their last four.

Doncaster & Crystal Palace Squad Analysis

Doncaster Rovers made their way past Kettering Town thanks to two goals from veteran striker Billy Sharp. He was 39 last Wednesday but is likely to start on the subs bench on Monday. It's possible some changes may be made after their disappointing loss at Chesterfield.

Chilwell could make his Palace debut.

Ben Chilwell has been signed on loan from Chelsea and it looks as if he'll make his Crystal Palace debut in this FA Cup tie at Doncaster Rovers. It's unlikely he'll start the match but he is expected to be on the subs bench.

Chris Richards has been ill in the past week but it's hoped that he will have recovered by Monday evening. Mattheus Franca is likely to be in the squad for this game but there is a big doubt over Eddie Nketiah. He twisted his ankle during training last week.

.He joins Nathaniel Clyne on the doubtful list and definitely out are Chadi Riad, Cheick Doucoure and Eberechi Eze.

Doncaster - Crystal Palace Key Points

  1. Crystal Palace have won their last three away matches.
  2. Crystal Palace have gone four away matches without conceding a goal.
  3. Doncaster lost their last game 5-2.

Our Doncaster vs Crystal Palace Prediction

Crystal Palace are in good form at present and keeping it tight at the back on their travels. Their recent FA Cup record isn't good but they will see this draw as a good chance to get into the fifth round.

Doncaster Rovers have finally been drawn at home after three away ties. Extra time has been needed in the past two rounds, one against a non-league side. Midweek saw them concede five goals at Chesterfield. Our main Doncaster v Crystal Palace prediction is Crystal Palace to lead at half and full time.
