Daniel Merida is through to the Croatia Open final, where he will face fellow unseeded player Damir Dzumhur. This is their first career meeting, and our prediction favours Merida, who is seeking his 22nd win in 30 clay matches this season.

Merida is seeking his maiden tour crown. The Spaniard lost in his first-ever tour final appearance at the Tiriac Open back in April. He will be keen to not suffer the same fate.

Merida has been almost flawless in his run to the final, reaching this round without dropping a set. He defeated Roman Andres Burruchaga in the semis, only dropping six games.

A three-time tour champion, Dzumhur is contesting his first final on clay. To achieve this feat, the 34-year-old fought his way back from 1-0 down to oust Alex Molcan.

The match lasted two hours and 45 minutes, meaning that his last two fixtures have lasted close to seven hours combined. That might disadvantage him. Dzumhur has returned to the ATP top 100 and is now ranked in 99th place in the live ranking.
