The Czech Republic and Poland will meet in the third-place match at the 2025 FIVB Volleyball World Championship on Sunday. The Czechs have lost each of their last three matches against the White and Reds dating back to 2011. Let’s get into the match prediction.
While the Czech Republic’s dream of being crowned world champions for the first time in over five decades have come to an end, they are still set for their best finish in this competition since 1970.
The Czechs pulled level after losing the first set to Bulgaria in the semi-final, but they were unable to kick on from that and were eliminated from title contention 3-1.
That was Czechia’s second loss in the competition after losing to Brazil in the group stage. They will now face an opponent that they have only won one set against in their last three encounters.
Meanwhile, Poland entered the competition as the top seed and favourites to reclaim the title for a third time in the last four editions of the World Championships.
However, for a second time in a row, they were denied by Italy, which won the semi-final 3-0 to set up an intriguing final against Bulgaria on Sunday.
While Poland may have failed to find their best against Gli Azzurri, they will be determined to ensure that they do return from this competition empty-handed.

Our Czechia vs Poland Prediction
While there is still a medal up for grabs, Poland will likely consider this year’s World Volleyball Championship a disappointment, as it will be the first time since 2014 that they will not contest the final.
For the Czech Republic, this is not the fairytale ending that they would have been hoping for, but reaching the last four is a major positive for their future. Unfortunately, we don’t feel they have the firepower to overcome the Poles in this one. Our Czech Republic vs Poland prediction is Poland wins 3-0.
