We head to Manchester for Night 10 of the Premier League darts season this Thursday, with the first match on the cards being Chris Dobey taking on Michael van Gerwen. Hollywood is in seventh place in the league standings, while MVG is fourth. Let’s get into the match prediction!
Chris Dobey delivered the upset of the night last week in Berlin when he made light work of league title favourite Luke Littler in the opening round, beating the Nuke 6-2.
Unfortunately, he was unable to build on that performance, as he bowed out in the semi-final to Gerwyn Price by the same scoreline, despite averaging 96.94 to the Iceman’s 62.42.
Dobey tried his hand on the European Tour 3 over the weekend and lost in the opening round to Wessel Nijman. His record now reads as five wins and five defeats in his last 10 across all competitions.
Meanwhile, Michael van Gerwen’s title aspirations took a major knock last week when he was forced to withdraw from his opening match against Gerwen Price due to a shoulder injury.
As a result, MVG received no league points and was handed a brutal six-leg difference, a result that also saw him overtaken in the league standings by the Welshman.
The Green Machine will be determined to put on a strong showing here and does have a solid record against this opponent, winning each of their last four matches, including two in this competition.
