Chelsea are 10th only ahead of visitors 11th placed Aston Villa on goal difference. Both sides need to go on a winning run if to qualify for either the Europa League or more likely the Europa Conference League next season. The Blues finally seemed to have turned a corner under manager Graham Potter going into the international break. They had won three league and cup games in a row before a 2-2 draw at home to struggling Everton who scored a late equalizer. Chelsea have a lot of work to do to get into European competition next season. Seventh might get them into Europe but they are four points adrift and played more games. Their only hope of being in the Champions League is winning it this season.

Villa have long been one of the outsiders for the top-seven places that might just get them into Europe next season. They went into the break with three wins and a draw from their last four league matches. Having lost 2-0 to Chelsea earlier in the season, the visitors will be gunning for revenge and avoid a season double. That would need Ollie Watkins to keep scoring goals, having netted one in each of their last four away Premier League matches. Indeed, Villa have been in impressive form away from home winning four and drawing one of their last six away league matches.
