The 0-2 Brooklyn Nets seek their first win of the new 2026-27 NBA season when they host the 1-1 Indiana Pacers on Sunday. With their star player now back, Indiana will be looking to recreate the lightning fast offense that led them to the Finals two seasons ago. Our prediction is backing a high-scoring encounter in the Borough.
The big story for the Pacers this season has been the long-awaited return of their star point guard Tyrese Haliburton. The 26-year-old missed the entirety of the 2025-26 campaign with a torn Achilles, which he picked up in game 7 of the 2024-25 NBA Finals.
Indiana opened with a 123-120 road win over the Pelicans, which saw Haliburton drop 23 points and 12 assists. They were beaten in their second outing though, falling 121-105 at home to the Mavericks in a disappointing defeat.
The Nets kicked off the new season with a 110-103 home loss to the Hornets. Julius Randle dropped 33 while Michael Porter Jr added 26, but they were the only two Nets players to score double digits.
They followed that up with a 125-121 road loss to the Cavaliers, which saw Brooklyn make a run at the comeback late on but ultimately unable to get it done. The Nets are on the second night of a back-to-back, having played at Cleveland on Saturday.
