by Steve Ashfield in Premier League Predictions
Aston Villa can go above Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League if they win this match. The Seagulls are the home side and seventh in the table with the visitors two places and a couple of points behind them. Here's our match prediction.
Brighton were knocked out of the FA Cup at the weekend but are still in with a good chance of playing in Europe next season. They are only two points behind fourth place and just one adrift of fifth. They'd love Aston VIlla to go even further in this season's Champions League as that would boost the chances of fifth place being good enough to qualify a team for next season's Champions League.
Aston VIlla are in the FA Cup semi-finals and the last eight of the Champions League. They are in good form at present and their January transfer window signings are playing a big part in their improvement. Can they earn three points on the south coast?

Brighton - Aston Villa: Form Analysis
The local museum in Brighton has an exhibition looking back at Brighton's first ever season in European football. It may have to be updated because the Seagulls have a good chance of European qualification this season.
They are seventh in the table and unbeaten in their last five league games. Four in a row had been won before earning a creditable 2-2 draw at Manchester City. The weekend saw them suffer heartbreak as they lost on penalties to Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup.
Home form has seen the Seagulls win their last three home league games with seven goals being put past their opponents.
Villa are bidding to win a sixth successive match.
Aston Villa have a busy end to their season and won 3-0 at Preston in their FA Cup quarter-final. That was their second successive win by that scoreline and the Villans have now won their last five league and cup games, the last three all to nil.
Away form in the Premier League has seen them win five of their 14 games but seven have been lost.

Brighton & Aston Villa Squad Analysis
Brighton have huge injury problems ahead of this Premier League home game against Aston Villa. Many key members of their squad are out injured and expected to be absent for this fixture. They include Adam Webster, Solly March, James Milner, Ferdi Kadioglu and Tariq Lamptey.
Changes will have to be made both in defence and up front. At the back, Jan Paul van Hecke is likely to partner Lewis Dunk. They will have a tough task on their hands dealing with a Villa midfield and attack that includes Rashford, a returning Ollie Watkins and Asensio.
Up front, we could see Joao Pedro playing behind Danny Welbeck. Out wide are expected to be the always dangerous Kaoru Mitoma and Yankuba Minteh.
Watkins is likely to start this match.
Aston VIlla have a mainly fit squad to choose from. Ross Barkley is yet to recover from his calf problems but otherwise Villa have a strong line-up available. Olliie Watkins may make his return and if so, Rashford may play in a wider position.
Amadou Onana may also make his return to the starting line-up with either Boubacar Kamara or Youri Tielmemans missing out.
