The big weekend in Italian football extends to Monday when Napoli travel to Bologna in a mouthwatering Serie A encounter. With eight matches remaining, Napoli are three points behind league leaders Inter Milan and Bologna are fourth, trailing Napoli by eight points. Below is our prediction of this match.
This is obviously a key game for both teams. Bologna have seen a lot of growth in the last two years. Here they are, chasing back-to-back Champions League appearances for the first time in their history.
They also have one foot in the Coppa Italia final and are one of the toughest teams to face. Heading into this game, Rossoblu are unbeaten in six straight matches, five in the league.
By the time the two sides face off, Napoli might have fallen six points behind. The resolve will, however, stand; they have to win the game to keep their title hopes alive.
A five-match winless run starting February resulted in being toppled by Inter Milan but things have stabilized lately. Napoli’s last outing produced a crucial 2-1 win against AC Milan.
That set up a four-match undefeated streak, during which they won twice and drew as many. It looks bleak away from home though, Napoli being winless in the last four league matches. In the reverse fixture, Napoli won 3-0.
