Top of the table Barcelona will be away to ninth-placed Olympiacos on Match Day 7 of the EuroLeague. The two clash on Thursday and here’s our preview and prediction for this match.
Olympiacos haven’t lost at home in Europe. This is where all three of their wins have come. The Greek heavyweights have outdueled Zalgiris, Milan and more recently Real Madrid.
In all three wins, they dominated on the defensive end and have kept their visitors to under 70 points. Georgios Bartzokas’ men defeated Barca’s Spanish rivals Real, 79-69 earlier this week. The Reds are averaging 80.3 points and allowing 77 against them.
Barcelona are in a rich vein of form and will arrive for this match, confident of claiming victory. Joan Pennaroya’s men have responded exceptionally to their opening-round defeat to Zalgiris and are now on a five-match winning streak.
They are the first team to claim five wins. Barcelona are coming off a short trip to Turkey where they overcame Efes 97-88. This was their third successive game with at least 90 points.
The Catalans are ranked second on offence as they are putting up 87.7 points a night on average.
Barca will be without Nicolas Laprovittola for the remainder of the season due to injury.
