They are in pole position in the league standings and are five points clear of the chasing pack, which includes Frankfurt, Union Berlin, and Freiburg, who are all tied on 30 points each. The hosts have been excellent at the Allianz this season, winning five and drawing two of their seven home matches, and if they avoid defeat in this one, they will extend their unbeaten run at home to 15 matches, dating back to February last year. Bayern Munich has been the vastly dominant side in this fixture and is unbeaten against Koln in their last 16 encounters, which includes 15 wins and one draw.
