It hasn’t been the best of starts to the year for Bayern Munich and they will be eyeing their first win of 2023 when they welcome Eintracht Frankfurt in their next Bundesliga game, at the Allianz Arena. The hosts go into this game with 36 points at the top of the league standings while Eintracht have 31 points, in fourth place. Bayern needed a stoppage time goal from Joshua Kimmich in their last outing, to draw 1-1 with FC Koln, having earlier registered the same result away to RB Leipzig. Despite this hiccup in their title race, Bayern have gone 15 matches undefeated since their 1-0 loss to Augsburg in September. They are also unbeaten at home in the last 15 matches in the league. Their main issue has been the absence of key players, who are out injured, including Sadio Mane, Manuel Neuer, Noussair Mazraoui, Lucas Hernandez and Bouna Sarr.

Eintracht Frankfurt on the other hand, are enjoying the season, playing in the Champions League for the first time ever, and chasing for a top four finish in the Bundesliga. They come into this game unbeaten in five matches and will be looking to avoid a defeat against a side that hasn’t been great this year. Just like Bayern, Eintracht Frankfurt are coming from a draw, 1-1 with Freiburg, but they bagged maximum points in their first game of the year, 3-0 against Schalke. Eintracht Frankfurt have lost just two of their last 11 league matches and they failed to score in just one of their last 10 league matches. Coming into this game they have two straight draws away from home but they have no clean sheet in their last 11 away matches in the Bundesliga.
