EuroLeague Predictions & Betting tips
EuroLeague presentation and predictions
European basketball is in the spotlight with the EuroLeague! It's a competition that pits the best teams on the Old Continent against each other. This season sees the league expanded to 20 teams, meaning there's going to be even more competition for the coveted trophy!
In a single pool, the 20 teams will play each other twice (home and away) with the regular season tipping off on 30 September 2025 and running until 17 April 2026. After the regular season is complete, the playoffs begin to crown Europe’s best team! The playoffs commence on 28 April 2026 and run until a champion is decided on 24 May 2026. Our experts will be at your service every step of the way to help you predict all the fixtures in this continental competition.
Winner prediction: who will win the EuroLeague?
Our experts believe that Olympiacos are the most reliable choice to win the EuroLeague right now. Defending champions Fenerbahce have undergone a massive roster overhaul with a number of new faces who are new to the EuroLeague, and it’s difficult to gauge how they will adapt.
Olympiacos, meanwhile, are a known product. They have retained nearly the entire team from last year and they finished the 2024-25 campaign as the top-rated offensive rating and one of the best defensive ratings as well. They have one of the best coaches in the league in Georgios Bartzokas and are led on the court by Aleksander Vezenkov, who is in the conversation as the best player in the EuroLeague (along with Panathinaikos’ Kendrick Nunn). The 30-year-old Vezenkov averaged 20.2 points per game on 55% shooting and 39% from three, and led the league in PIR (Performance Index Rating).
Olympiacos should finish the regular season towards the top of the table and be in the mix by the time we get to the Final Four. Our 2025-26 EuroLeague prediction: Olympiacos champions!

Finalist prediction: which clubs will contest the EuroLeague Finals?
It will also be possible to bet on which teams will reach the EuroLeague Finals. As things are currently shaping up before the start of the campaign, Olympiacos and Panathinaikos are looking like the two most likely teams to face off in the final.
Both teams came agonizingly close last season, each making it to the Final Four last season. They would both ultimately come up short; Olympiacos falling to Monaco while Panathinaikos lost out to eventual champions Fenerbahce. They would then play each other in the ensuing third-place playoff, of which Olympiacos grabbed the bronze after a 97-93 win.
This season, we like both pre-season favourites to each go a step further and make it to the championship final.
EuroLeague regular season prediction: who will finish top of the standings?
Finishing top of the EuroLeague regular season standings is a long way from guaranteeing the title at the end of the playoffs! In fact, since the introduction of this single pool in 2016, whoever finished top of the regular season standings has never managed to actually win the EuroLeague championship. This was the case again in 2024-25, as Olympiacos topped the standings only for Fenerbahce (who finished second in the table) to walk home with the championship trophy.
This time around, we think either one of Olympiacos or Panathinaikos will be good choices to finish top of the table. They're the two most complete teams in the EuroLeague, while there are a few question marks surronding their main rivals. Both teams have retained their core players and should be able to put up similar type of results as last year. As a reminder, Olympiacos topped the 2024-25 table with a 24-10 record while Panathinaikos finished in third at 22-12.
2025-26 EuroLeague - odds to finish top
- Panathinaikos - 3.75
- Olympiacos - 3.80
- Real Madrid - 7.00
- Fenerbahce - 9.00
- Monaco - 11.00
- Barcelona - 17.00
- Hapoel Tel Aviv - 17.00
- Anadolu Efes - 19.00
- Crvena Zvezda - 26.00
- Milano - 26.00
- Partizan - 29.00
- BC Dubai - 34.00
- Maccabi Tel Aviv - 67.00
- Baskonia - 81.00

EuroLeague top 6 prediction: which club will go straight into the playoffs?

This is the third consecutive season with the new format in the EuroLeague which has incorporated a play-in tournament.Previously, the top 8 teams in the regular season qualified for the postseason. Now, only the top 6 from this single pool go directly into the playoffs. For the other two places, there is a battle between the clubs ranked between 7th and 10th.
Even so, the big guns are expected to keep their heads and avoid the play-in tournament. Behind Olympiacos and Panathinaikos are Real Madrid and Fenerbahce, who are expected to battle it out for third and fourth. Rounding out the top six could be last season's runner-up Monaco, along with Barcelona, who finished fifth last year. Our prediction: Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, Real Madrid, Fenerbahce, Monaco and Barcelona in the EuroLeague top 6!
Play-in tournament prediction: which EuroLeague club is in the top 10?

This was the new feature introduced in the 2023-24 edition of the EuroLeague. From now on, a place in the top 10 can get you into the playoffs. As in the NBA, 7th and 8th place will play each other in a single match. The winner will be considered as 7th in the regular season and will therefore join the 2nd in the standings. The 9th and 10th teams will also play each other over a single match. The winner will face the loser of the match between 7th and 8th. Whoever wins will then be considered to be in 8th place and will face the top-seeded team in the quarter-finals!
So it remains very difficult to pinpoint the teams that will complete the top 10. However, Anadolu Efes, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Crvena Zvezda and Milano are all likely to contest the playoffs. Our prediction: Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, Real Madrid, Fenerbahçe, Monaco, FC Barcelona, Anadolu Efes, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Crvena Zvezda and Milano in the top 10!
Beginner bettors - how does EuroLeague Basketball work?
The EuroLeague remains the most popular competition for European basketball clubs. The 2025-26 edition will feature 20 teams, up from last year's total of 18 teams. The increase in league size means in increase in overall matches played, as each team will now play 38 games each in the regular season. This involves playing each club twice: once at home and once away. When the regular season is over, it's time for the playoffs! And how do you qualify?
At the end of the regular season, here are the positions in which you can dream of the coveted title:
- Clubs ranked 1st to 6th qualify directly for the playoffs
- Clubs ranked 7th to 10th must compete in the play-in tournament
- The 7th and 8th-placed teams play each other in the play-in. The winner is deemed to have finished as the 7th seed in the regular season.
- 9th and 10th place face each other in another play-in round. The winner plays the loser of the match between 7th and 8th. Whoever comes out on top is considered to be the 8th seed.
The clubs can then get into the thick of things as the playoffs are ready to begin. Here's how the playoffs work:
- The 1st seed plays the 8th seed, 2nd plays 7th, 3rd plays 6th and 4th plays 5th. The quarter-finals are played as a best-of-five series, meaning you need 3 wins to progress to the next round.
- The last 4 survivors play in the Final Four, at a predefined venue over a weekend (this year in Athens). The semi-finals and final are played over a single match.

How to make good predictions on a EuroLeague match?
You have to do everything you can to prepare your EuroLeague bet! There are a number of factors you should take into account before finalising your bet slip. SportyTrader has been following this competition for a number of years and has some advice for you when it comes to betting:
- The EuroLeague regular season is different from the playoffs
- Know what's at stake in a European match
- Clubs shine at home thanks to familiarity and the fans
- Go head-to-head in the EuroLeague
- Widen your horizons for the Final Four
Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of the basketball competition. We'll explain them in more detail below.
The EuroLeague regular season is different from the playoffs
Let's face it! The regular season and the playoffs are completely different. In the regular season, it's consistency that counts. Clubs that are particularly strong at home will also be able to enjoy some success thanks to their fans. The playoffs, however, are a different story. The proof? Since the introduction of this single pool, whoever finished top of the regular season has never been able to claim the trophy.
So when the playoffs come around, don't just rely on the regular season standings to make your predictions. Instead, you need to look at the form of the players, the style of play of the two teams and their current form. This is how you should prepare your bets following the regular season.
Know what's at stake in the European match
This is another detail to bear in mind. The EuroLeague takes place over several months. As a result, there may be matches that are left out of the regular season. Let's imagine that a club has already qualified for the playoffs in the top 6 and is taking on a team that is still battling for qualification. On paper, the team in the top 6 should be the favourite. However, the stakes will be much higher for their opponents, who will have plenty to play for. There are also matches between two teams from the same country.
Olympiakos and Panathinaikos, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, Red Star Belgrade and Partizan Belgrade... A host of teams will be reunited with another club from their own league. And it's not always the best team that wins in these situations! After all, they are used to playing each other on the domestic stage. The outsider therefore has a much better chance than another team of knocking off the favourite, as they know their strengths and weaknesses better.
Clubs shine at home thanks to electrifying venues

While the Final Four is played on neutral courts, this is not the case in the regular season or in the quarter-finals of the playoffs. In those cases, you need to find out which teams are playing at home. In some countries, the atmosphere can be intimidating for opposing players! Serbia, Greece and Turkey spring to mind. And that's a detail that can make all the difference.
Even when Red Star Belgrade or Anadolu Efes are the underdogs in their matches, they can still pull off an upset at home. They have an entire crowd behind them, who will put pressure on their opponents. The players also benefit from the familiarity of playing on their home court, sleeping in their own beds and being able to spend time with their families.
Head-to-head in the EuroLeague
It's a reflex you should adopt for all basketball matches! It's important to understand the difference between betting on the result and head-to-head. When you bet on the result, the score at the end of normal time is taken into account. If you bet on a club to win and they come out on top after extra time, the bet is lost, as the draw will be taken into account. This is a complicated situation, as matches can sometimes go beyond regulation time.
And it's different for the head-to-head bet. With this bet, you are betting on the winner of the match, regardless of whether or not it goes to extra time. Admittedly, the odds are still lower than when betting on the result. However, the difference is not big enough to take the risk of playing on the result alone. We therefore advise you to play head-to-head all the time. This could save you a few surprises and, above all, earn you a lot of extra euros in the long run.
Widen your horizon for the Final Four

For the Final Four, it's sometimes a bit of a toss-up as to who will win the match. In fact, it is often only fine margins that separate two teams before the start of the games. Why not turn to other betting markets for these important matches? In particular, you can play the points total.
When two clubs have a habit of shining offensively, it’s easy to envision a high-scoring kind of game, white the opposite will also be true for two strong defensive teams. You can also bet on the winner at half-time! An interesting bet for those teams that have a knack for starting strongly.
Of course, all the tips we've just mentioned are used by our editors for each EuroLeague prediction. They also take into account a wealth of statistical data, to give you the most comprehensive analysis possible.
