After a minor blip in the midweek, leaders Barcelona will look to maintain their impressive lead at the top of La Liga standings when they welcome top-four chasing Real Betis to Spotify Camp Nou on Saturday. The hosts have a 11-point lead over Real Madrid with seven matches remaining while the visitors are 5th going into the weekend six points behind top-four. A 2-1 surprise loss at Vallecano wasn’t quite a surprise if you consider Barcelona’s recent form. They have lost two, drawn two and won just once across their last five competitive matches. Despite their strong lead at the top of league standings, even their La Liga form has been below par. They have drawn two and lost one of their last four league matches although the win in that sequence came against Atletico Madrid. That win came at this venue with Barcelona winning five of their last six home league matches.

Betis are coming off a goalless draw against Real Sociedad, failing to cut down the gap to top-four sides. Manuel Pellegrini’s side are still in the race to climb up, although realistically they would want to finish in the top-five as the race gets tighter. In this context, their recent poor form has been catastrophic as Betis won just once and lost three of their last five league matches. It could get tricky on the road as they haven’t won for three away league matches, including two straight losses.
