Leipzig will look to build on their recent win and improve their chances of a top three finish in the Bundesliga when they travel to mid-table side Augsburg for a matchday 22 meeting. This match on Friday at the WWK Arena between the 12th-placed Fuggerstädter and the 4th-placed Die Roten Bullen comes with our prediction of an away win.

Augsburg have 27 points and are 13 points above the relegation zone, while Leipzig’s 36 points put them three behind third-placed Eintracht Frankfurt and one above Stuttgart.

A 0-0 draw at Mainz last weekend extended Augsburg’s unbeaten run to five league matches, three of which were wins. This recent surge has seen the hosts move farther from the relegation zone and could now push for a top-10 finish.

Home form still needs some consistency, as two defeats in the last three home league games mask the positives of four wins from the last seven Bundesliga matches here.

Leipzig earned a 2-0 home win over St. Pauli last Sunday to end a run of three draws and a loss. With the title race now out of reach, Leipzig could look to push for a top-three finish.
