Atletico Madrid bid for a third successive win in La Liga. They are fourth in the table, while opponents Getafe only have Elche below them. Atletico are in the final Champions League qualification position, three points clear of Villarreal in fifth. After an early exit in this year's competition, they'll be keen to ensure they qualify for the 2023/24 Champions League. Their form in 2023 has been good with seven points being earned from their last three league games following a narrow 1-0 home loss to Barcelona. They have won their last two games in La Liga, keeping clean sheets in both of them. Three home league games have been lost this season (two to Real Madrid and Barcelona) but only one of their last six La Liga home games has been lost.

Getafe come into this match battling to stay in La Liga. Elche are stranded at the bottom of the table, so there's realistically only two relegation places remaining. Getafe are one from bottom in the table and three points from safety. Their current form is very poor with their last four league games all ending in defeat.
