The quarter-final of the Carabao Cup will kick off in midweek with Arsenal playing host to Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening. The Gunners last reached this stage of the competition in 2021-22 while the Eagles have made it to the final eight for the first time since 2011-12. Check out our match prediction below!

Arsenal entered the Carabao Cup in the third round with a thumping 5-1 victory over Bolton Wanderers in September and followed up with a 3-0 victory against Preston in round four. Palace got their campaign underway in round two and have notched up wins over Norwich City (4-0), Queens Park Rangers (2-1), and most recently Aston Villa (2-1).

Notably, these two sides will face off again in just three days in the Premier League, but the hosts are the clear favourite heading into this encounter. Let’s take a look at some other key stats.

Arsenal - Crystal Palace: Form Analysis

Arsenal come into this match off the back of a fairly underwhelming performance last weekend, when they were unable to find a goal against Everton and were forced into a 0-0 draw.

However, that result meant that the Gunners extended their current unbeaten run to eight matches across all competitions dating back to the start of November.

The hosts are also unbeaten at home this season across all competitions and have been rock solid of late, having kept four consecutive clean sheets on their home patch ahead of this match.

Arsenal have won each of the last four matches between these sides!

Meanwhile, after a dismal start to the season, in which they failed to win any of their first eight games, Crystal Palace now seem to be hitting their stride again.

The Eagles put in one of their best performances of the term over the weekend, beating Brighton & Hove Albion 3-1 to take their unbeaten record to five matches in a row.

Additionally, the visitors have also avoided defeat in their last five away games (W3 D2 L0) and scored two or more goals in all but one of those matches.

Arsenal & Crystal Palace Squad Analysis

Arsenal fans were handed a major scare over the weekend when Declan Rice was hauled off at the hour mark against Everton.

Mikel Arteta confirmed after the match that the England international felt a niggle and it would not come as a surprise if he is rested for this one.

Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu are both ruled out for the foreseeable future with knee injuries, while Riccardo Calafiori and Oleksandr Zinchenko are listed as doubts.

Teenager Ethan Nwaneri has scored three goals in two Carabao Cup matches for Arsenal!

Oliver Glasner, on the other hand, is missing two first-team right-backs at present in Joel Ward (knee) and Daniel Munoz (suspension) which should see Nathaniel Clyne make the starting 11 this week.

Matheus Franca, Rob Holding and Chadi Riad are all sidelined with injuries and will not feature, while Adam Wharton is still a few weeks away from making a full return to action following a groin issue.

Our Arsenal vs Crystal Palace Prediction

Despite delivering a fairly blunt attacking performance against Everton at the weekend, Arsenal have been very good on their home patch this season, scoring two or more goals in all but two of their last 10 games at the Emirates.

Indeed, Crystal Palace have made significant improvements over the last month, but clean sheets have proven hard to come by and their record in this fixture suggests they may struggle to contain the hosts in this one. Our Arsenal vs Crystal Palace prediction is Arsenal over 1.5.
