Milan have already fallen 10 points off the title race in Serie A, a matter they will look to address this weekend. The Rossoneri will welcome Empoli at San Siro on Saturday, and below is our prediction for the match.

Milan put up a fifth unbeaten outing in Slovakia when they beat Slovan Bratislava 3-2 in the Champions League in midweek. That was their third win in five matches and they’ve only lost once in the last eight.

After failing to score in their last two home matches, Milan will seek a lift this time.

In the last eight meetings with Milan, Empoli are winless, and they scored just once in the last five. That, and the fact that they come here having managed just a win in the last eight matches, places them on the underdogs’ status.

That win was against struggling Como, which means Empoli will have to be at their best to get anything from this match. With at least seven players on the injury list, the visitors’ chances in this game go further down.

While they are unbeaten in three matches, each of the last two ended in draws. The latest of those saw Udinese score late to cancel out their lead in a 1-1 draw.
