Terms Agreed: Cody Gakpo Set For Switch to North London
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly reached an agreement in principle with Cody Gakpo, putting the Dutch forward on course to become the second Liverpool player to swap Anfield for North London this summer.
Spurs have already completed a free-transfer move for Andy Robertson and are now aiming to raid the Reds for another experienced addition as they look to rebuild their squad after another dismal Premier League campaign in 2025-26, in which they avoided the drop by just two points.
The proposed deal for Gakpo is understood to be worth around £60 million!
The 27-year-old’s Liverpool spell has produced 50 goals in 180 appearances, underlining his importance to the Reds’ attack. Losing him would create another attacking gap for new boss Andoni Iraola, with the team still pushing to sign PSG winger Bradley Barcola.
Speaking on his YouTube channel on Friday night, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reiterated that Gakpo remains “100%” Roberto De Zerbi’s “top target”, while also adding that Tottenham are stepping up their efforts to complete the deal before the season starts next weekend.
Victor Osimhen Lifts Lid On Interest From the Emirates
Victor Osimhen is once again being linked with a Premier League switch as the transfer window reaches its boiling point, and the Nigerian striker has opted not to shut down speculation over a potential move to Arsenal, instead providing a classic “wait and see” response to questions about his future.
Osimhen’s name was brought up when the Gunners were in transfer talks with Galatasaray, who were eyeing moves for Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri. He was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea last season, while Spurs were also believed to be interested.
While Martinelli eventually turned down a possible move to Istanbul, Osimhen remained coy over the Arsenal speculation, refusing to rule out a Gala exit. Speaking to the Turkish press regarding the possibility of heading to England, Osimhen said:
"There are always rumours in transfer seasons. I will take care of my business. I am focused on my job, then we will see and think further."
Aside from Osimhen, Arsenal have also been linked with a move for Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, but the Spanish club are reportedly demanding more than £100m for the Argentine, who is also a top target for La Liga champions Barcelona.
