Estadio de Vallecas will host this weekend’s La Liga curtain-raiser with Rayo Vallecano taking on Las Palmas on Friday night. Los Franjirrojos are ninth in the league standings, while Los Amarillos are in 18th place after 12 games. Let’s get into the match prediction.
After barely avoiding the drop last term, Rayo Vallecano have made a much more positive start to this season, currently on 16 points and with a game in hand on those around them.
The Red Sashes have won their last two matches in all competitions, while the only defeat they’ve conceded in their last eight was away to Mallorca after the last international break.
Following a home defeat to Barcelona in gameweek three, the hosts are now unbeaten in their last four games at Estadio de Vallecas (W2 D2 L0) and scored six goals in that time.
Meanwhile, after failing to win any of their first nine league games this season, Las Palmas notched up back-to-back victories after the October international break against Valencia and Girona.
They followed that up with a big win in the Copa del Rey but their momentum was abruptly halted by a 2-0 loss away to Atletico Madrid last weekend.
The visitors have lost five of their six away games this season and conceded two or more goals in each, including in their sole victory against Valencia last month.
