Two-time Wimbledon champion Andy Murray begins his final grass court campaign. He takes on fellow unseeded player Marcos Giron in the first round of the BOSS Open in Stuttgart. The winner will be up against either sixth seed Jack Draper or unseeded Sebastian Ofner. Murray has indicated that he won't be playing much after this summer and if he stays fit and plays at Wimbledon it's bound to be an emotional experience. His year hasn't been great so far with the usual battle against injuries that has blighted the latter part of his career. Murray has only played two tournaments since the Miami Masters and lost to Stan Wawrinka in the first round at Roland Garros and is 97th in the live rankings. He's won eight grass court tournaments on the ATP Tour and landed two last year on the Challenger Tour.

Marcos Giron has never made it past the second round at Wimbledon. Nor has he reached any finals on this surface on the ATP and lower tours. The American is 54th in the live rankings and will be glad the clay court season is over. He's lost seven of his last eight matches but before that did reach the final of the Dallas hard court tournament. He's attempting to avoid a second successive first round defeat in this tournament, losing to Dusan Lajovic last year. Before that he lost in the qualifying rounds in 2021 and was beaten in the first round 12 months later. He only won one main draw match in ATP grass court events in 2023. We tip Andy Murray to win this match.
