After a strong 2026 Winter Olympics on the individual side, the French women have the chance to cap it all with a team title in the relay on Wednesday 18 February. Les Bleues look well equipped to climb to the top step of the podium, with a powerful quartet in Lou Jeanmonnot, Julia Simon, Océane Michelon and Justine Braisaz-Bouchet. On paper, France should start as the team to beat, but they won’t have much room for error, because the chasing pack is stacked with serious contenders.

Sweden arrive in Antholz-Anterselva with a relay capable of fighting for both a medal and the win. With the Öberg sisters, Elvira and Hanna, alongside Anna Magnusson and Linn Gestblom, the Swedish line-up has plenty of quality. After a difficult start to the Olympics, they have looked sharper in recent days, and that upward trend could translate into a genuine podium challenge.

On home snow, Italy can realistically dream of a medal in front of their own crowd. Led by pursuit Olympic champion Lisa Vittozzi and the experienced Dorothea Wierer, the Italians should be right in the mix, with Germany also well placed to battle for the podium through the likes of Vanessa Voigt and Franziska Preuß.

All in all, several nations look capable of making a real run at this Women’s Relay, and it has the ingredients for a wide-open race from start to finish.
