Stubborn Wild Dogs Eye Upset Over Depleted Super Eagles 

Group L faces an unusual qualification scenario ahead of the 2027 AFCON, as co-host Tanzania have already secured their tournament berth, leaving Nigeria, Guinea-Bissau, and Madagascar to battle for the final ticket.

As our AFCON 2027 predictions show, Guinea-Bissau currently top the group after making a massive statement on Matchday 1, when they travelled to Zanzibar and secured a commanding 2-0 win over Tanzania, with goals from Franculino Dju and Mama Balde.

More concerningly, Nigeria’s attack is missing its talismanic star power!

Victor Osimhen is set to sit out tonight’s clash as he continues his recovery from injury. Compounding concerns, Matchday 1 goalscoring hero George Ilenikhena picked up a knock in the victory over Madagascar last weekend, and is now listed as a major doubt for this match. 

With the Super Eagles’ attacking options depleted, Moses Usor will likely be tasked with leading the line after scoring the winner against Madagascar, with the physical presence of Taiwo Awoniyi and Tolu Arokodare also offering alternatives in the final third.
