Men’s T20 World Cup headlines bumper-to-bumper 2026 schedule
Cricket, tennis, hockey, or shooting - Whatever your sports fancy is, the 2026 sporting calendar in India has it all, and we will be covering all of the major events in our sports predictions over the coming jam-packed 12 months.
January kicks off with the fourth edition of the Women’s Premier League, which is expected to be the most entertaining one yet, following the mega auction in which Chinelle Henry and Shree Charani were snapped up for ₹1.3 crore each by the Delhi Capitals.
The India Open badminton Super 750 will follow midway through the month and leads into the busiest monthof the year, February, which features the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and the Davis Cup qualifiers in Bengaluru.
The Indian Premier League gets underway in March and will run until May, while the 2026 Asian Weightlifting Championship is set to return to India for the first time since 1982 and will be held in Ahmedabad between April 1 and 10.
May to July are fairly thin, but August makes up for it, with the BWF World Championships and the Indian Open World Athletics Continental Tour leading up to the National Open Athletics Championship in October.
Badminton dominates the latter part of 2026, with the Syed Modi International Badminton Championships in November, followed by the Guwahati and Odisha Masters Super 100 tournaments in December.
