Before returning to club duties, Nigeria will take on Jordan in their final match of the March international break on Tuesday at Mardan Antalyaspor in Turkey. The Super Eagles will enter the fixture with confidence following their impressive 2-1 victory against Iran over the past weekend.

Nigeria set for tough test against World Cup-bound Jordan

Nigeria will bring an end to their March internationals with what is expected to be a stern test against Jordan, who are putting the final touches on their preparations ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup - their first-ever participation in the global tournament.

The Chivalrous Ones have taken massive steps forward in recent years. Not only did they qualify for the upcoming World Cup, but they also reached the final of the FIFA Arab Cup, where they held African powerhouse Morocco to a 2-2 draw in regulation time before losing on penalties.

Jordan come into this match following a 2-2 draw against Costa Rica last Friday, just before Nigeria recorded a 2-1 victory over Iran and confirmed our football predictions, thanks to goals in either half by Paris FC forward Moses Simon and Akor Adams of Liga Liga outfit Sevilla.

This month’s friendlies are key to rebuilding the Super Eagles’ confidence after failing to qualify for the 2026 World Cup and having their appeal against DR Congo’s alleged use of ineligible players in their Playoff fixture last December dismissed by FIFA. One of the major talking points for Eric Chelle’s side heading into this fixture is who will line up at centre-back for the team after Igoh Ogbu was forced off with an injury against Iran. Reports suggest that Emmanuel Fernandez and Chibuike Nwaiwu are the most likely to get the nod if Ogbu is unable to feature.
