One team that will not be a part of the scramble this week is Sevilla. While Los Rojiblancos are in 13th place and just three points above the dotted line, their safety is guaranteed, given that 17th-placed Elche are set to take on 18th-placed Girona on Saturday night.
Akor Adams has been central to Sevilla’s survival this season, particularly off the bench, and his latest contribution was a key one, as he scored the winning goal for his team in their 3-2 comeback against Villareal last week, a result that effectively secured their top-flight survival.

Indeed, the Super Eagles’ midfielder’s goal at Estadio de La Ceramica was his 10th in La Liga this season, making him only the fourth Nigerian player to reach double digits in the Spanish top flight after Christopher Ohen, Ike Uche and Finidi George.
Ademola Lookman - Atletico Madrid’s Next Talisman
One of the biggest talking points during the January transfer window was the departure of Ademola Lookman from Atalanta to Atletico Madrid, with Diego Simeone’s side forking over €40m to secure the services of the Nigerian international for the second half of the season.
Fair to say that it looks like money well spent, as the Super Eagles’ attacker has settled extremely well at the Metropolitano, scoring crucial goals for his new club, including in high-profile matches against Barcelona and cross-town rivals Real Madrid.
His showing against Blaugrana in the Copa del Rey semi-final was particularly impressive, as he notched up a goal and an assist to lead his side to a thumping 4-0 victory. He also netted in the final of that competition, albeit in defeat to Real Sociedad on penalties.
Since arriving in Spain, Lookman has recorded 13 goal contributions (9 goals, 4 assists) in 23 matches across all competitions. He was also central to the team’s semi-final run in Europe before bowing out to Arsenal, which confirmed our Champions League predictions.
Aside from his attacking output, his arrival at the Metropolitano has eased the pressure on Julian Alvarez, and given the rumours of the Argentine’s potential departure this summer, Lookman could become Atleti’s talisman in the 2026-27 La Liga season.
