The first two rounds for Groups A and B in the 2025-26 AIFF Super Cup have now been completed, and we already have one confirmed semi-finalist in FC Goa. Three teams have also bowed out of the competition with a game to play, including two from the Indian Super League.

FC Goa secures final four spot amid shock results on Matchday 2

The reigning AIFF Super Cup champions FC Goa are on course to defend their title after punching their ticket to the semi-final of this year’s competition by beating Inter Kashi in their Group B clash earlier today.

The Gaurs took the lead in the match just three minutes after the first whistle through Dejan Drazic, who notched up his second goal of the tournament. Borja Herrera then bagged a brace for the champs to secure the points and confirm our football predictions

With Jamshedpur and NorthEast United playing to a 2-2 draw earlier in the day, the victory for Goa meant that they have qualified for the final four of the competition, as they are now on six points, four above the team in second place, with just one match left to play.

The draw between the Highlanders and the Men of Steel was about the worst result that either side could have hoped for, as it left them on two and one point, respectively, after two games and both teams are now eliminated from qualification contention.

In Group A, the headline result was seeing reigning Indian Super League Shield and ISL Cup champions Mohun Bagan held to an unexpected draw by I-League outfit Dempo SC. The other match in the section saw East Bengal thrash Chennaiyin 4-0 in the first match of the day.

Those results meant that the Red and Gold Brigade overtook the Mariners to top spot in the group on goal difference, and sets us up for a blockbuster Matchday 3 clash when the same two teams will face off, with the winner earning qualification to the semis.

For Chennaiyin, early elimination was a bitter pill to swallow, and it became evident that the lack of a pre-season affected them immensely. The Marina Machans had seized operations due to the uncertainty surrounding the ISL, which also meant they forewent the Durand Cup in July-August.

Groups C and D will officially get their first round of matches in the 2025-26 Super Cup underway on Thursday, October 30, starting with Kerala Blasters set to take on Rajasthan United. You can keep up to the minute with all the action at the Super Cup via our football livescore tool.

Kerala have only resumed full training over the last month, and it will be interesting to see how they fare against a stubborn Rajasthan, which is now led by Vikrant Sharma, who helped the team earn promotion to the I-League back in 2021.

In the second match of the day, former Super Cup champions Bengaluru will kick off their campaign against Mohammedan, and this will be a huge fixture for both clubs to help them build up momentum ahead of the start of the new league season.

Additionally, this will be a chance for The Blues to get their revenge against this opponent. Last season, Gerard Zaragoza’s side only lost three league games at home, one of which was against Mohammedan.
