We are exactly two weeks into the 2026 Indian Premier League season, and the standings are becoming clearer with the Rajasthan Royals starting to break away from the chasing pack. Below, we take a look at the players who are currently leading the race for the Orange and Purple caps.

Sooryavanshi takes 2026 IPL Orange Cap away from Jaiswal

With two weeks of the 2026 Indian Premier League now complete, the Rajasthan Royals have firmly announced themselves as the team to beat, as they are the only side with a perfect record of four wins in four matches.

Much of RR’s success is attributable to their incredible batting lineup, led by the dynamic young duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, while Dhruv Jurel also stepped up in the last match against RCB to help confirm our IPL predictions

Three Rajasthan Royals players are in the top four run scorers in IPL 2026!

Sooryavanshi has been dominating headlines of late for his devastating hitting at the top of the order, and the youngster delivered another remarkable innings on Friday afternoon, smashing 78 runs off just 26 balls (strike rate 300.00), including eight 4s and seven 6s.

With that knock, the 15-year-old India under-19 international overtook his teammate Jaiswal to claim the Orange Cap. He is now the only batter in this season’s competition to reach 200 runs, doing so in just four games and with a strike rate of a staggering 266.66.

However, it’s not just in the batting department that the Royals are excelling, as the Purple Cap holder is also part of the Rajasthan franchise. As it stands, Ravi Bishnoi is three wickets clear at the top of the leading wicket-taker standings with nine wickets in four matches.

The 25-year-old spinner is one of only two players, alongside KKR’s Blessing Muzarabani, to claim a four-fer in the competition so far. His best figures are 4/41, and he is averaging 12.66, while holding an excellent strike rate of 8.66 in 13 overs to date.

In addition to Bishnoi, England quick Jofra Archer is currently fifth in the leading wicket-taker standings, level on five wickets with fifth-placed Nandre Burger. Indeed, RR have three players currently ranked in the top 10 of this season’s Purple Cap race.

Last year’s leading wicket-taker, Prasidh Krishna, is having another solid campaign, currently in second place with six wickets in three games, while Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan is in third place with five wickets in three matches.
