Cricket: Pakistan fans fume after record-breaking defeat to West Indies

Shai Hope leads Windies to blowout victory over Pakistan
After securing a 2-1 series win over the West Indies in Florida at the start of this month, Pakistan's travelling fans were expecting their side to follow up in the three-match ODI series at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy this past week.
Unfortunately, it was not to be as the Shaheens’ faithful followers were forced to watch their side get taken apart in their final matchup, with Shai Hope leading the charge for the home team, scoring a stunning 120* of just 94 deliveries.
Batting first in the third ODI with the series level at 1-1, the Windies posted a formidable target of 294/6 in their 50 overs to defy the latest betting odds, with Justin Greaves also producing a notable innings of 43* (24) at the death.
In response, Pakistan lost both their openers, Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique, for ducks while skipper Mohammad Rizwan also followed them back to the pavilion without troubling the scoring. Of the team's top four batsmen, only Babar Azam got off the mark, though he added just nine to the total.
The chief destroyer for the West Indies was 23-year-old Jayden Seales, who bagged six wickets for just 18 runs in 7.2 overs and bowled out the Green Shirts for just 92 runs in the 30th over, with Salman Ali Agha recording the team's highest score of 30.
Following the defeat, fans took to social media to express their dissatisfaction, with many labelling the team's performance a national shame and embarrassment, especially ahead of their crucial Asia Cup 2025 campaign in the UAE next month.
