After what can only be described as one of the most captivating Test series in recent memory against England, the Indian Cricket Team’s next assignment comes in the form of the 2025 Asia Cup, which will be staged in the United Arab Emirates between September 9 and 28. Here we take a look at three IPL winners who are in line to feature for the Men in Blue.

Krunal Pandya among RCB stars seeking India call-up

We have already been treated to some stunning cricket this season, including a thrilling Border-Gavaskar Trophy, World Test Championship, and Indian Premier League, which saw the Royal Challengers Bangalore win the world's biggest T20 League for the first time ever.

Following their tour to England over the last month and a half, one that will go down in history as an absolute cliffhanger, the Men in Blue have now reconvened in India and have begun preparation for their next limited-overs assignment - the 2025 Asia Cup - for which they are favourites according to the best online betting sites

There are several changes that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are expected to make to the limited-overs squad, and there are at least three RCB players who are heavily fancied to receive call-ups to represent the country in the UAE next month.

First up is Krunal Pandya, who enjoyed an excellent 2025 IPL campaign with the Royal Challengers, notching up 17 wickets at an economy rate of 8.20, while he also produced a match-saving knock of 73* off 47 deliveries against the Delhi Capitals.

The next player who could make the T20I squad is RCB’s captain Rajat Patidar. The 32-year-old has built a reputation for being one of the best batsmen against spin bowling, particularly in the middle overs. He has featured in Tests and one ODI but has yet to be summoned to the T20I setup.

Finally, we have Jitesh Sharma, who played a massive role for the IPL champions during their title run as a finisher in their batting order. While he is unlikely to get in ahead of Sanju Samson, he is certainly a worthwhile substitute if needed for India behind the stumps.

Rishabh Pant selection uncertain despite impressive England tour

Leading up to the 2025 Asia Cup, reports suggest that one player who featured for India during the Test series against England could be set to miss out next month in the UAE, namely Rishabh Pant.

Pant had an excellent tour against the Three Lions, scoring multiple centuries, including a double ton. However, the newly-named Test captain has endured dismal form in the limited-overs game over the last 12 months, especially in the shortest format.

Ahead of the 2025 IPL, the 27-year-old made history by becoming the most expensive player ever in the competition, with the Lucknow Super Giants splashing out ₹27 crore to secure his services at the IPL mega auction.

Unfortunately, Pant was unable to live up to his eye-watering price tag, recording just 269 runs in 13 innings at an average of 24.45. His T20I record for India is also substandard, with just 1,209 runs in 76 matches at an average of 23.09.
