The wait is finally over! The Pro Kabaddi League is back with Season 12 set to get going on Friday, August 29, with the Telugu Titans facing the Tamil Thalaivas. It will be the first time that the PKL returns to Vizag after a seven-year absence, and it will do so on the National Sports Day in India.

PKL 12 to kick off on National Sports Day in India

The excitement is building as kabaddi lovers from across India prepare for the start of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12, which gets underway at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Vizag on National Sports Day in India - August 29. 

PKL 12 will visit four cities before this season’s champion is crowned, with Jaipur, Chennai and Delhi also on the schedule after Vizag. The league has also undergone significant changes for this edition, most notably, now featuring 108 league-stage matches, meaning each franchise with play 18 games.

Kicking off this season’s action on the mat will be the Telugu Titans taking on the Tamil Thalaivas on Friday, before the Bengaluru Bulls and Puneri Paltan face off later the same evening. You can check out all the best Indian betting sites for PKL 12 right here on SportyTrader.

On Saturday, UP Yoddhas will make their first appearance of the season against the Titans, while the evening fixture will see U Mumba meet the Gujarat Giants. The Giants are now captained by Mohammad Reza Shadloui, who is this season’s highest-paid player. 

The first weekend of PKL 12 will draw to a close with another intriguing double-header, starting with the Thalaivas and U Mumba locking horns before we get our first glance of last season’s champions, Haryana Steelers, against the Bengal Warriors.

Favourites, top raider and top defender odds for PKL 12

PKL 12 is widely expected to be the biggest from a betting perspective that we have ever seen, with several bookmakers introducing the league to their sites while even offering exclusive kabaddi betting offers for the 2025 season.

Haryana Steelers are currently showing up as the pre-tournament favourites at around 6.50 with leading Indian bookie Dafabet, followed by the Tamil Thalaivas (8.0), Puneri Paltan (8.5), Bengal Warriors (9.0), while Dabang Delhi, Gujarat Giants and U Mumba are at 10.0. 

In terms of individual player props, the Giants’ new acquisition, Mohammad Shadloui (3.0), is the market leader to finish as the top tackler in PKL 12, followed by Rahul Sethpal (7.5) Ankit Jaglan (9.0) and Nitesh Kumar (10.0).

As far as the odds for this season’s top raider go, it is Devank Jalal (3.5) who leads the way after crossing 300 raid points last year. He is followed by Ashu Malik (4.5), Arjun Deshwal (7.0) and Ajit Chouhan (11.0).
