The Haryana Steelers will be returning to defend their PKL title and will aim to do so without the talismanic Mohammad Reza Shadloui. The Steelers will be captained once again by Jaideep Dahiya, while Rahul Sethpal will serve as vice-captain.
Shadloui became the highest-paid player for Season 12 at the PKL auction, with the Gujarat Giants splashing out a staggering ₹2.23 crore to secure the reigning MVP’s services. The Giants have also handed the captaincy to the Iranian for this season.
Patna Pirates will be hoping to go one better than runners-up this season and have entrusted the captaincy to Ankit Jaglan. The reliable defender led a young team to great effect last year and will now need to do so without his star raider, Devank Dalal.
Other returning skippers for Season 12 of PKL come from Dabang Delhi, U Mumba, UP Yoddhas and Telugu Titans, with Ashu Malik, Sunil Kumar, Sumit Sangwan and Vijay Malik all set to resume in-game leadership for their respective franchises.
Malik led the Titans in the absence of Pawan Sehrawat in PKL 11, and he was handed full captaincy for the upcoming season after Sehrawat was acquired by the Tamil Thalaivas at the PKL auction. The Thalaivas have also announced Sehrawat as their new captain.
Dalal will be suiting up for the Bengal Warriorz this season and has also been entrusted with the armband, while the final confirmed captain for PKL 12 is Aslam Inamdar for Puneri Paltans. Jaipur Pink Panthers and Bengaluru Bulls have yet to confirm their captains for this year.
