Cricket: New record set as Indian Street Premier League Season 3 auction sees ₹10 crore spent - Thursday
Vijay Pawle tops price charts at ISPL 2026 auction
Since the first edition of the Indian Street Premier League in 2024, the T10 tennis ball tournament in India has grown to become one of the most exciting domestic leagues in the country, and Season 3 is shaping up to be the best one yet.
Like the Indian Premier League (IPL), franchises competing in the ISPL have been busy putting together their squads for the upcoming campaign, and the final touches were completed on Tuesday evening in Mumbai at the ISPL 2026 auction.
A total of 408 players from 101 cities were put up for auction at the event. The players represented six zones - U-19, North, South, East, West, and Central - and each individual started with a base price of ₹3 lakh.
After the fierce bidding war, Vijay Pawle ended as the top pick at the auction, with defending champions Majhi Mumbai splashing out a staggering ₹32.50 lakh for his signature. Behind him was Ketan Mhatre, who was retained by Chennai Singams for ₹26.40 lakh using their Right to Match (RTM) card.
From the Under-19s, rising star Ankit Yadav earned the biggest paycheck of ₹6.50 lakh from Tiigers of Kolkata, while Srinagar Ke Veer snapped up Rudra Patil for ₹3 lakh, making him the youngest player to feature in Season 3 at just 16 years old.
For 2026, the ISPL has welcomed two new teams in the Ahmedabad Lions and Delhi Superheroes, bringing the tournament to eight participating franchises. ISPL 2026 will kick off on January 9 and will run until February 6 at the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium in Surat.
