Eleven teams arrived in Dhaka to contest the 2025 Women's Kabaddi World Cup this month, and now only two are left standing, with India set to face Chinese Taipei in the final on Monday. India are the defending World Cup champions and the clear favourites heading into this blockbuster finale.

India maintain flawless World Cup record with victory over Iran

India came through the group stage of the 2025 Women's Kabaddi World Cup with flying colours, winning all four of their matches by 25+ point margins, which sees them enter the final as the clear favourites according to all the best online betting sites

The defending champions opened their campaign with a commanding 65-20 victory over Thailand, and continued their dominance with victories over Bangladesh (43-18), Germany (63-22) and Uganda (51-16).

In the semi-final against Iran on Sunday, India showed excellent defensive solidity in the early stages of the match and went into the break with a slender lead. However, they proved too strong for the Iranians in the second period and powered to a 33-21 victory.

After the match, many fans and pundits suggested that this Indian team looks even more formidable than the one that won the inaugural edition of this competition in 2012, owing to the manner in which they saw off Iran, who are widely considered the second-best side in world kabaddi.

With momentum firmly on their side, India will look to cap off their tournament by winning the championship match and retaining their world title at the Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium on Monday evening.

Chinese Taipei have made huge strides forward in world kabaddi in recent years, and their hard work has now paid off, as they prepare to try and upset the odds in the final of the World Cup after stunning host nation Bangladesh in the semis on Sunday.

Bangladesh produced an excellent first half in front of their lively home supporters and went into the interval down by just one point at 9-8. However, it did not take long before the visitors began to pull away in the second period.

Chinese Taipei were exceptionally efficient in executing their raid patterns in the second half and slowly but surely applied pressure on the scoreboard. By the end of the match, they were seven points ahead, winning the tie 25-18.

Bangladesh can still be proud of their performance and will receive the bronze medal, marking their first podium finish in a women’s world-level tournament, while Chinese Taipei maintained their 100% record in this competition and now set their sights on the giants of women’s global kabaddi.
