Inter Miami will be looking to make it four wins in a row, when they host mid-table San Diego FC at Nu Stadium on Sunday evening.
Despite their excellent recent form, Miami are still nine points behind runaway Eastern Conference leaders Nashville with just nine games remaining. But while Inter seem unlikely to retain their Eastern Conference regular season crown, they will be confident of retaining the MLS Cup, especially if talismanic superstar Lionel Messi continues the fine run of form that has seen him score eight goals in his last seven games.
San Diego's Western Conference playoff aspirations are on the slide, due to a three game losing streak that has seen them drop to ninth in the table. Last time out, they produced arguably their worst display of the seaosn as they were trounced 0-5 at home to the Philadelphia Union. A drastic turnaround is required if San Diego are to avoid completely falling out of the playoff places this weekend.
