An early NFC East battle will take place Sunday afternoon in Jerry’s World. Both the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders will be hungry for a win as they both lost to another divisional opponent in their season openers last week.
Dallas came into the season with many touting their tremendous offense and improved defense as a reason they should be Super Bowl contenders. However, they did not live up to that hype at all last week against the New York Giants. Dak Prescott only threw for 175 yards, and the run game accumulated just 69 yards. The defense allowed Jaxson Dart to complete almost 80% of his passes for 230 yards and 3 touchdowns. They also allowed 165 yards on the ground in the 28-20 loss.
Washington had a more competitive loss in their opener. They had a chance to send the game to overtime after Jayden Daniels hit Antonio Williams to cut the lead to 24-22. The conversion failed, and the Eagles were able to walk away with the victory. Overall, the Commanders looked pretty good. Daniels threw for 2 touchdowns and ran for 31 yards. The run game finished with 132 yards on the ground. They did struggle a bit against the passing attack of the Eagles, as Jalen Hurts was able to throw for 3 touchdowns.
