One of the most fascinating matchups of Week One of the 2026 NFL season sees the Tennessee Titans host the New York Jets in Nashville, as both teams look to bounce back from disappointing 2025 campaigns.
The game will be Robert Saleh's first as the Titans' head coach, and expectations are high that the former Jets HC can help second year QB Cam Ward take the next step following a promising rookie season. Ward will have an upgraded O-line protecting him, plus some some expecting new targets in the form of Wan'Dale Robinson and Carnell Tate. It may be a bit early for the Titans to mount a playoff push, but they look fully capable of improving on last season's terrible 3-14 record.
The Jets will start the game with veteran QB Geno Smith behind center. It will be Smith's first Jets appearance in over nine years, and whilst he is being viewed as a stopgap QB, he is expected to give the Jets offense some much-needed potency after a string of dismal seasons.
