Both the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Cincinnati Bengals have started their seasons at 2-1. Both of them lost by exactly 7 points in their losses.

The Jags kicked off their season with an easy 34-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns. They then took a tough loss to the Broncos, where they were leading early in the 4th quarter but fell short 20-13. Last week, they bounced back nicely with a blowout win over the struggling New England Patriots. The offense was efficient, but the story was the defense. They forced 3 turnovers and sacked Drake Maye 3 times in the 35-6 victory. Trevor Lawrence threw 3 touchdown passes while Bhayshul Tuten and Chris Rodriguez Jr. combined for 110 yards on the ground and 1 touchdown.

For the Bengals, things seemed to be going well after the 1st two games of the season. Everyone was healthy, and the offense put up a combined 53 points against Tampa Bay and Houston. Last week, the offense still produced, but the defense struggled. They allowed 30 points in the 30-27 loss against a mediocre Pittsburgh offense. Joe Burrow was great in the loss as he finished with just under 300 yards and 3 touchdowns. The problem was that the Bengals allowed the 43-year-old Aaron Rodgers to put up a similar stat line. If the defense continues to play this poorly, it will not matter how great the offense performs.
