The Dallas Mavericks take on the Golden State Warriors in a 2026 NBA Summer League matchup on Thursday, July 9, at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
Dallas enters the event with first-round pick Morez Johnson Jr. expected to be the centerpiece of its Summer League roster. Johnson was the 9th overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. Johnson averaged 13.1 points and 7.3 rebounds in Michigan's NCAA championship run this year.
The Mavericks also feature returning guard Ryan Nembhard, along with four-year wing Jaden Springer. Nembhard started in 27 games for the Mavericks last season. Springer has been with three teams in his young NBA career, most recently with the Utah Jazz.
Golden State counters with arguably one of the deeper Summer League squads. The Warriors are expected to lean on Yaxel Lendeborg, their lottery pick in this year's draft. The 23-year-old is one of the most NBA-ready players in that draft, having spent his senior year winning the championship for Michigan with Johnson.
Along with Lendeborg, the Warriors also brought in Will Richard and LJ Cryer. Richard started in 21 games for the Warriors last season, putting up a career-high of 30 points in a game against the Sacramento Kings.

Our Dallas Mavericks vs Golden State Warriors Prediction
Plenty of eyes will be watching this matchup between Morez Johnson Jr and Yaxel Lendeborg, two of the centerpieces in Michigan's 2026 championship run in the NCAA. However, Lendeborg's team might have the advantage, especially with sophomore Will Richard on their side.
Richard will be a handful for the Mavericks to stop, and he could partner with Lendeborg and point guard LJ Cryer on offense. Our prediction for the Dallas Mavericks vs Golden State Warriors match is: Warriors (-4.5) cover the spread.
