The Washington Wizards battle the Utah Jazz in a 2026 NBA Summer League matchup on Thursday, July 9, at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
In what could be the most anticipated matchup of the day, this game will pit the top two picks in the 2026 NBA Draft.
The Jazz have already gotten incredible performances from prized rookie Darryn Peterson during the California Classic. Peterson dropped 28 points in his debut and followed it with a 25-point, 12-assist double-double.
Along with Peterson, the Jazz will also feature talented young players like Ace Bailey and Cody Williams. Both players were key rotational pieces for the Jazz last season.
Meanwhile, the Wizards will be unveiling the first overall pick, AJ Dybantsa, for the first time. Dybantsa averaged 25.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in his lone year for the BYU Cougars.
The Wizards also added players with NBA experience in their Summer League roster. Will Riley, Chris Livingston, Julian Reese, and Tre Johnson will reinforce Dybantsa in this tournament.
Johnson is a player to watch for Washington. He started in 42 games last season, putting up decent averages of 12.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.0 assists.
