The Orlando Magic battle the Charlotte Hornets in a 2026 NBA Summer League matchup on Thursday, July 9, at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
The Hornets enter this year's Summer League as the defending champions. But of course, continuity isn't a thing in this tournament. Charlotte won't have Kon Knueppel, last year's championship game MVP.
Instead, the Hornets will rely on their NBA-experienced players, such as Ryan Kalkbrenner, Sion James, Tidjane Salaun, and Liam McNeeley. Many expect this tournament to be a springboard for the 7-foot-1 Kalkbrenner. The sophomore center averaged 7.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks last season.
Charlotte will also parade Hannes Steinback, their lottery pick in this year's draft. Steinback averaged an impressive double-double of 18.5 points and 11.8 rebounds in his lone year with the Washington Huskies.
Meanwhile, Orlando's group is co-led by Jase Richardson and Noah Penda, both entering their second year in the NBA. Penda and Richardson logged 59 and 58 games, respectively, in their rookie year.
The talk of the town, though, shines on Cam Reddish. Reddish joined the Magic's Summer League team in an attempt to return to the NBA. The combo wing averaged 8.5 points and 2.7 rebounds in six years in the league.

Our Orlando Magic vs Charlotte Hornets Prediction
People will come in to see Cam Reddish suit up for the Magic's Summer League team. The 6-foot-8 wing is attempting an NBA comeback, but his team might be lagging in terms of talent.
On the other hand, the Hornets have a good combination of talent and experience on their team, especially with Ryan Kalkbrenner leading them. Our prediction for the Orlando Magic vs Charlotte Hornets match is: Hornets (-1.5) cover the spread.
