Vegas (14-6-9) and Philadelphia (16-9-3) will face off for the first time this season when they meet in Philadelphia on Thursday evening.
Philadelphia wrapped up November on a 3-game win streak that was abruptly ended with a 5-1 loss to in-state rival Pittsburgh to begin December. Since that loss, the Flyers have won 2 of their last 3 and have continued the strong defensive play that has made them so successful this season. They have allowed just 6 goals over their last 3 games and still rank 6th in the league in total goals allowed. Both Dan Vladar and Samuel Ersson have kept their GAA under 3.00 for the season.
Vegas started the month hot with a 3-game win streak that included wins over Chicago, New Jersey, and the New York Rangers. However, they were upended on Tuesday in New York when they lost 5-4 to the Islanders in shootouts. Vegas gas continued to play disciplined hockey and is 3rd in the league in total penalty minutes. Keeping opponents off the power-play has been a key to their success to this point in the year.
Philadelphia has struggled at times this season in finding the back of the net, and with limited power play opportunities in this one, it could be a tough grind-it-out type of game for both teams.

We like this matchup to go under the total. Philadelphia relies heavily on its defense and is near the bottom of the league in scoring. Vegas does have the ability to score and is Top 15 in scoring but they are going to have a tougher time than normal against this Flyer team. The game is nearly a toss-up and that should favor both teams playing this one in the lower echelon of scoring.
