Rinya “Hybrid” Nakamura takes on Brady “Bam Bam” Hiestand on Saturday night in a bantamweight battle.
Rinya, out of American Top Team, began his UFC career in 2023 with a 33-second knockout win over Kazama. He went on to win his next two fights, and the hype was beginning to grow. However, he then suffered a loss to Gafurov early last year that derailed his momentum. He bounced back with another 1st-round KO over Nathan Felder and now has his sights set on continuing his ascension against Hiestand.
Brady Hiestand lost by split decision to Ricky Turcios in his UFC debut, but has since gone on to win his last 3 fights. In those 3 fights, he found a way to win in a variety of ways. Decision, submission, and KO/TKO were all results in those 3 wins. However, he will have his hands full on Saturday with the dangerous Nakamura. He has yet to fight a southpaw in his career, and Nakamura is going to present that exact challenge. Not only does Nakamura present a challenge on the feet, but he also comes from a wrestling background and will not be easy to deal with on the ground either.

However, the one thing we have to worry about is if he tries to finish early and fails. Hiestand can increase his pace as the fight goes on, and if Nakamura falters in an early finish attempt, we could be in trouble. With Nakamura being a heavy favorite, we believe the value is in him getting that early finish. Over half of his victories have come in the 1st round, and this could be another one.
