Reigning UEFA Nations League Champions Portugal take on Wales for the first game of the 2026-2028 edition. Another side who has replaced their manager following a disappointing World Cup campaign, this is Jorge Jesus' first competitive match in charge of the European giants. Portugal are favorites to win, but Wales shouldn't be underestimated. True, they don't possess the same quality throughout their squad that their opponents do, but it's a squad full of hard work and endeavour. Craig Bellamy also has talent at his disposal, this Wales side certainly have players who can cause Portugal problems.

While many are predicting a Portugal win, for our prediction we're focusing on the Total Goals market. Three of Portugal's last five has featured fewer than 2.5 goals. Four of Wales' last six has featured fewer than 2.5 goals. We think this will follow a similar path.
