Matchday 5 of Ligue 1 wraps up with one of the most anticipated matchups of the season! This Sunday, Olympique de Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain face off at the Stade Vélodrome. This “Classique” doesn’t seem to be coming at the best of times for the Marseille club. In addition to losing its last three league matches, the team just suffered a heavy defeat in its Europa League debut on the road against Besiktas (4-1). It won’t be easy for Bruno Genesio’s squad to bounce back this weekend.

After a slow start to the Ligue 1 season (failing to win any of its first three matches), PSG has finally notched their first victory. While the performance wasn’t exactly spectacular, the team managed to secure a 1-0 win on the road against Stade Brestois. Luis Enrique’s men have no intention of taking it easy in a matchup that’s always highly anticipated by their fans. At the end of what could be a spectacular “Classique,” they expect to live up to their status and move closer to the top of the standings.
